Lenita Henderson, Treasurer, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from North Carolina Central University and has over 16 years of corporate experience. She is currently serving as a Global Service Assurance Manager with AT&T and has several years of experience coordinating corporate fundraising events for the United Way of Greater Triangle for AT&T’s Employee Giving Campaign. Lenita currently serves as the Durham Ambassador with AT&T’s Aspire Mentoring Academy - Community in Schools program. She is an active member of Unfailing Love Christian Church of Durham and is passionate about encouraging, uplifting, and empowering women and young people.

Colette Barnes, Board Member, is the married mother of two boys ages 10 and three, a graduate of UNC-CH, and is a full time employee and entrepreneur. A resident of North Carolina since 1992, Colette is a Virginia native and comes from a family of four kids. She loves creating and has become proficient in arts and crafts as well as fashion. Having spent most of her career in the pharmaceutical industry, Colette has become diverse in various areas of the corporate market. Her love for people and marketing combined are a valuable asset that will get a tremendous work out!

Eva Fisher, Secretary, is the last of five children born into an incredible and loving family. Married to Brandon Fisher and the mother of two awesome teenage children, Brandon Jr. and Olivia, she is a proud graduate of UNC-CH with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. A life-long member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., with the motto of “Greater Service, Greater Progress”, Eva is a woman of faith and believes that God has a plan and purpose for her life that is bigger than anything she could ever imagine. She has a passion for serving others and believes serving is a fundamental principle by which to operate. Her passion for the arts along with fresh ideas for serving, investing and developing our community through the vehicle of music, art, media and photography is an invaluable asset to An Invitation for Trans4mation.

Taryn Simmons, Secretary, has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and aspires to become a Speech Therapist and entrepreneur. She is currently the Administrative Assistant to the Director of Human Resources at Chapel Hill/Carrboro City Schools. Taryn loves family time, knows how to play the acoustic guitar, enjoys serving people and loves to sing.

Cathy Gordon, Board Member, has dedicated over twenty years of working in the Higher Education arena, where she has honed her skills in motivating and supporting students along their collegiate journey. She has earned her Bachelor’s of Arts in Therapeutic Recreation from Benedict College and her Master’s in Education from Strayer University. Serving her community has always been a passion that she still fulfills by serving on the board and mentoring high school students who are preparing to start their four year collegiate journey at a myriad of college and universities throughout the United States. She is a mother of two young adult daughters, a mentor, sister, and friend. Cathy enjoys living in the quaint city of Mebane, where loves to host her family and friends. "It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?" Marianne Williamson.

Yolanda Mukombe, Board Member, is originally from Greenville, NC where she graduated from North Pitt High School. She matriculated to UNC-CH in 2007 and graduated with a degree in Psychology. She went on to obtain her Masters from Meredith College in 2017 and is now the happy wife of Saiyani and the beaming mother of her "Precious Little Prince, Elam."
Her life experience has been far from “normal” but she attests that she has been blessed to be surrounded by people who have given her guidance in times when she needed it most. Once consumed by fear, she has learned to be fearless and to shoot for her dreams and instills this same passion into each and every person she meets. Most recently, she was a motivational speaker at the “Refining The Mind Women’s Conference 2019” and is well on her way to becoming a motivational speaker known worldwide.
